Urban Hike - Orienteering in Fitzrovia

In December Troop 401 held its annual urban hike. This year Scouts completed a timed

urban orienteering course in Patrols around Fitzrovia. The start/finish point was the Globe

pub near Baker Street London.

Patrols had to study an orienteering map and plan their route in advance of the hike. Points

were awarded depending upon the number of control points reached and the time taken,

with Scouts having 90 minutes to complete the course.

The Web IIs working on their Arrow of Light were invited to join the hike and it gave them a

great insight into life in Troop 401!
