A boy or girl may join Troop 401 if:
- they are at least 10 years old, currently in the fifth grade (UK equivalent year six) and register on or after March 1st; OR

New Scouts:

  • Complete a BSA New Youth Application (opens a new window to my.scouting).

  • You are welcome to subscribe to Scout's Life, but it is not required.

  • Fill out the application.  The fees charged at this level are charged by BSA and the Transatlantic Council.  You will be billed separately for the Troop's dues, which are currently £150/year per Scout.

Transferring Scouts (from Cub Scouts or from another troop):

  • Parents or former leaders can transfers Scouts from a former unit to Troop 401 in my.scouting.com.

  • Alternatively, you can use the New Youth Application links below.  Feel free to register as a dual Scout - this keeps the connection to the Scout's old unit for any advancement that's being wrapped up and there is no additional charge.

  • Any questions, please let us know.

Medical forms are required for all scouts annually - Part C is needed for events longer than 72 hours (ie summer camp).  Parts A & B only are required for participating adults.   Indicate whether vaccinations are up to date, individual dates are not necessary.

  • Complete and upload to our Dropbox account using the file upload tool

  • Name forms as follows > Last Name_First Name_Forms included (eg. ABC), date

  • FORMS MUST BE UPLOADED AS 1 SINGLE FILE, NOT SEPARATE FILES FOR EACH FORM (iPhone users, Notes has a good feature for scanning docs which is very easy to use. Create new note > tap + > scan)

All parents are required to apply for DBS checks if you have been living in the UK for more than three years.  See below for a link to more information and directions.

All parents are encouraged to complete BSA's Youth Protection Training - this is a 30-minute course that is available online (link below).
