Applications & Forms
A boy or girl may join Troop 401 if:
- they are at least 10 years old, currently in the fifth grade (UK equivalent year six) and register on or after March 1st; OR
- have earned the Arrow of Light Award and are at least 10 years old, OR
- are age 11 but have not reached age 18.
New Scouts:​

Complete a BSA New Youth Application (opens a new window to my.scouting).

You are welcome to subscribe to Scout's Life, but it is not required.

Fill out the application. The fees charged at this level are charged by BSA and the Transatlantic Council. You will be billed separately for the Troop's dues, which are currently £150/year per Scout.

Transferring Scouts (from Cub Scouts or from another troop):

Parents or former leaders can transfers Scouts from a former unit to Troop 401 in my.scouting.com.

Alternatively, you can use the New Youth Application links below. Feel free to register as a dual Scout - this keeps the connection to the Scout's old unit for any advancement that's being wrapped up and there is no additional charge.

Medical forms are required for all scouts annually - Part C is needed for events longer than 72 hours (ie summer camp). Parts A & B only are required for participating adults. Indicate whether vaccinations are up to date, individual dates are not necessary.

FORMS MUST BE UPLOADED AS 1 SINGLE FILE, NOT SEPARATE FILES FOR EACH FORM (iPhone users, Notes has a good feature for scanning docs which is very easy to use. Create new note > tap + > scan)
All parents are required to apply for DBS checks if you have been living in the UK for more than three years. See below for a link to more information and directions.
All parents are encouraged to complete BSA's Youth Protection Training - this is a 30-minute course that is available online (link below).
Registration Payment Guidelines
The registration fees for Troop 401 is £150 per year per Scout and covers the BSA and council fees, storage costs, scout handbook, troop patches (401 numerals, patrol patches, leadership patches, etc.), t-shirt and troop hat, as well as all advancement recognition (rank awards and merit badge patches).
